Cornelia (Tant Corrie) Christina Martens

Cornelia, known as Tant Corrie, was born on July 20th, 1904 and her baptism took place on October 2nd, 1904. Tant Corrie's father was Jacobus Cornelius Martens and her mother was Catharina Elizabeth Steenkamp. Her paternal grandparents were Jacobus Joshua Francois Martens and Susanna Elisabeth Martens; her maternal grandparents were Roelof Petrus Steenkamp (Gerhardus Dreyer) and Cornelia Christina Kriel. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Jacobus, Roelfie, Hendrik, Tant Sannie, Tant Katie and Maria. She was the oldest of the seven children. She died at the age of 79 on September 9th, 1983. She was buried in Vryheid.
