Henry (Harry) John Thomas Martens (Hendrick Johannes Thomas) 
Henry, known as Harry, was born on September 24th, 1877 in Pietermaritzburg and his baptism took place on October 29th, 1877 in Presbitarian Church Pietermaritzburg. Harry's father was Hendrik Jacobus Martens (Philippus) and his mother was Elizabeth (Annie) Ann Magnus. His paternal grandparents were Jan Thomas(1) Martens and Anna Maria Isabella Coetzee; his maternal grandparents were John Magnus and Sara Grant. He had two brothers and four sisters, named William, Alexander, Annie, Meta, Gertrude and Elizabeth. He was the oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 58 on March 29th, 1936 in The Gums, Hluhluwe.General Notes
