Josua Joachim Francois Martins 
Josua was born on May 11th, 1861 and his baptism took place on March 2nd, 1862. Josua's father was Dewald Jozua Martens and his mother was Hester Cornelia Pretorius. His paternal grandparents were Jozua Joachim Francois Martens and Anna Catharina Maria Pretorius; his maternal grandparents were Hercules Albertus Pretorius and Anna Elizabeth Schoombie. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Herculaas, Dewald, Jacobus, Marthinus, Anna, Catharina, Anna and Hester. He was the third oldest of the nine children. He died after 1898.-
