Pieter Retief Pretorius 
Pieter was born in 1845. Pieter's father was Marthinus Wessel Pretorius and his mother was Debora Jacoba Retief. His paternal grandparents were Henning Petrus Pretorius (Nicolaas) and Johanna Christina Vorster. He had seven brothers named Henning, Marthinus, Johanna, Jacobus, Jacobus, Barend and Andries. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 77 in 1922.-
