Barend Johannes Vorster (Marthinus) 
Barend was born on June 17th, 1832 in Graaff Reinet. Barend's father was Johannes Petrus Vorster and his mother was Maria Elizabeth van Heerden. His paternal grandparents were Barend Johannes Vorster (Marthinus) and Cornelia Catharina Venter (Adriana). He had two sisters named Hendrina and Maria. He was the oldest of the three children. He had eight half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Johannes, Rudolf , Paulus, Jan, Hermanus, Joseph, Johannes, Isaac, Maria, Hendrina, Martha and Cornelia. He died at the age of 59 on July 23rd, 1891 in Soutpansberg,Karreebos, Renosterpoort.-
