Anna was born on October 20th, 1893 in Hoopstad and her baptism took place on March 4th, 1894 in Hoopstad, Free State.  Anna's father was Willem Andries van Bergen and her mother was Maria Magdalena Pieterse (Elizabeth).  She was an only child.  She died at the age of 80 on September 12th, 1974 in National Hospital, Bloemfontein.
