Maria Susanna van Schalkwyk (Aletta)

Maria was born on October 4th, 1887 in Transvaal.  Maria's father was Christiaan Jacobus van Schalkwyk and her mother was Catharina Maria Boshoff.  Her paternal grandparents were Abraham Petrus van Schalkwyk and Rosa Hermiena Jordaan. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Abraham, Marthinus, Willem, Lodewikus, Catharina, Petronella, Isobella and Jacomina.  She was the second oldest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 33 on June 12th, 1921.
