Irene  Violet Higgs

Irene  was born on October 7th, 1896 in Mooirana near Thaba 'Nchu.  Irene 's father was William Edward Higgs and her mother was Cornelia Jones.  Her paternal grandparents were William Charles Higgs and Catherine Emily Austen. She had five brothers and seven sisters, named Willie, Clement, Jock, Claude, Bertie, May, Ethel, Alice, Gladys, Ida, Bertha and Harry.  She was the second youngest of the thirteen children.  She died at the age of 59 on March 1st, 1956.
