Anthonie Maartens

Anthonie was born about 1749 in Cape Town and his baptism took place on June 29th, 1749.  Anthonie's father was Anthonie Maartens and his mother was Catharina Martha Beck.  His paternal grandparents were Anthony or Anton  Maartens and Hermina  Herwig; his maternal grandparents were Johannes Zacharias Beck and Elsje van As. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Johannes, Jacobus, Hermina, Catharina and Magdalena.  He was the third oldest of the six children.
