Daniel Wilhelmus Maartens 
Daniel was born on March 1st, 1891. Daniel's father was Louwrens Petrus Erasmus Maartens and his mother was Louisa Catharina Susanna Henning. His paternal grandparents were Hendrik Joachim Maartens and Elizabeth Magdalena van Jaarsveld; his maternal grandparents were Jan Hendrik Henning and Hester Elizabeth Hatting (Margaretha). He had eleven brothers and two sisters, named Hendrik, Jan, Lourens, Adriaan, Louis, Abraham, Matthys, Nicolaas, Matthys, Pieter, Erasmus, Hester and Elizabeth. He was the fourth oldest of the fourteen children. He died at the age of 87 on July 26th, 1978.-
