Stephanus (Steve) Johannes Martens 
Stephanus, known as Steve, was born on December 8th, 1946. Steve's father was Hendrik (Henry) Jacobus van der Merwe Martens and his mother was Elenore Snyman. His paternal grandparents were Stephanus (Oom Fanie) Johannes Martens and Alida Helena van der Riet; his maternal grandparents were Willem Snyman and Elenore de Neufville. He had a brother and four sisters, named Alexander, Leila, Marguerite, Lorna and Karen. He was the oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 2 on March 7th, 1949. He was buried in Sophiadale.-
