Gert Helgert van Rooyen

Gert was born on March 14th, 1838 and his christening took place on August 14th, 1838.  Gert's father was Lucas Marthinus van Rooyen and his mother was Jacomina Aletta Potgieter.  His paternal grandparents are <Unknown> and <Unknown>. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Lucas, Hermanus, Johan, Cornelius, Frederick, Maria and Jacomina.  He was the third oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 67 on July 25th, 1905.
