Cecilia Maria Maartens 
Cecilia was born on July 6th, 1874 in Barkly East and her baptism took place on October 13th, 1874 in Barkley East. Cecilia's father was Nicolaas Francois Maartens and her mother was Cecilia Maria Coetzee. Her paternal grandparents were Joachim Hendrik Martens and Louisa Maria Grobbelaar; her maternal grandparents were Gert Lodewikus Coetzee and Cecilia Maria Kuhn. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Joachim, Gert, Nicolaas, Daniel, Matthys, Louisa, Magdalena and Elizabeth. She was the third youngest of the nine children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Willem and Aletta. She died due to heart disease, Myocardial degeneration with dropsy as contributing cause, at the age of 73 on July 27th, 1947 in Cedarville. She was buried in Cedarville.General Notes
