Petrus Nicolaas Maartens (Johannes) (Petrus Nicolaas Jacobus) 
Petrus was born about 1880 in Barkley East and his baptism took place there on June 12th, 1880. Petrus' father was Paul Jacobus Maartens and his mother was Hester Maria Magdalena Roets. His maternal grandparents were Petrus Johannes Roets (Nicolaas) and Johanna Hendrina Mynhardt. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Johannes, Petrus, Paul, Johanna, Martha and Hester. He was the third youngest of the seven children. He died from a heart attack on April 5th, 1944 in Barkley East. He was buried in Barkley East.General Notes
