Devilla, known as Tannie Dellie, was born on August 31st, 1914. Tannie Dellie's father was Dewald Johannes Martens and her mother was Jacomina Louisa van der Westhuizen. Her paternal grandparents were Hendrik Jacobus van der Merwe Martens and Anna Maria Isabella Martens. She had a brother and two sisters, named Hennie, Ann and Christina. She was the second oldest of the four children. She died at the age of 87 on November 18th, 2001 in Bloemfontein. She was buried in Noodsberg NG Kerk, New Hanover.
