Maria Magdalena Maartens (Helena)

Maria was born about 1749 in Cape of Good Hope and her baptism took place on August 24th, 1749.  Maria's father was Jasper Maartens and her mother was Catharina  van Laar.  Her paternal grandparents were Anthony or Anton  Maartens and Sara Moller (Claassen). She had four brothers and three sisters, named Anthonie, Jacobus, Jasper, Frederik, Anna, Sara and Aletta.  She was the third youngest of the eight children.  She died in 1800.
